ABOUT EDMONTON AFRICAN DANCE FESTIVAL

Who We Are

The Edmonton African Dance Festival is built on the belief that art has the power to heal, unite, and transform communities. Since 2011, we have served as a cultural anchor for Edmonton’s African diaspora, Caribbean communities, Indigenous peoples, BIPOC creatives, and multicultural audiences.

Our programs are designed to be inclusive, accessible, and community centered. Whether someone is a professional performer or attending their first dance class, EADF creates a welcoming environment where culture can be explored with respect and excitement.

Our Community

EADF proudly serves:

  • African diaspora and Caribbean communities

  • Indigenous and BIPOC communities

  • Professional and emerging dancers and choreographers

  • Families, youth, and seniors

  • Educators, cultural workers, and arts lovers

While Edmonton is our home, our impact reaches across Canada through partnerships, touring artists, and digital engagement.

Our Legacy

Over more than a decade, EADF has grown into a respected cultural institution. Our legacy reflects commitment to:

  • Cultural pride and authenticity

  • Artistic excellence and innovation

  • Community empowerment

  • Education and mentorship

  • Unity across cultures

We use dance and drama as bridges that connect generations, celebrate identity, and strengthen social bonds.
